1. What is Planning and Scheduling?

Dynamic simulation provides flexibility to visualize changes in the plant environment enabling training operators to foresee possible break downs and replicate actions performed on the job to repair them.

2. Can I run ProDyn on the web?

Yes, ProDyn is web enabled.

3. Can I connect ProDyn to DCS system?

Yes, ProDyn will connect to any DCS system that is OPC compliant.

4. What is an alarm management system?

The AMS feature of ProDyn has audio and visual alerts that can record any alarms of a malfunction up to a year with purchase of the development license.

5. What is OPC compliant?

OPC is an open system that allows different software to communicate to each other.

6. How do I monitor performance of different students?

ProDyn allows the instructor mode to access the Performance monitor and grade trainees on individual performance. Instructor may print, e-mail or save individual exercises for future reference.

7. Can I generate automatic exercises for my students?

Yes, in instructor mode click Event Monitor and pre-designed exercises are listed.

8. What is real time and faster than real time?

Real time is the parameter of time it takes for the given task to complete.  

9. What process can be simulated in ProDyn?

Any plant or refinery procedure.

10. Can multiple users access the same model on a network?

Yes, ProDyn can run a simulation everyone has individual access too.

11. What is a snapshot?

A snapshot is a recorded picture taken at any stage in the process manually or automatically.  

12. What is backtracking?

Backtracking is a record of an exercise or process that you can reference back to if data is lost.

13. How many malfunctions can I generate?

There is no limit to the number of malfunctions the system can generate either at once or in a sequence.

14. Can I customize the model and graphics?

Yes, the model and graphics can be customized with the development license.

15. Is there a maintenance contract for ProDyn?

Yes, the first year of maintenance is free and starting the second year a 20% charge will be applied to further maintenance.

16. How long will the alarm management system store the data?

The system can store data up to a year.

17. Does ProDyn offer historical trends?

Yes, ProDyn allows data to show graphically in 2D or 3D and has storing capabilities up to a year. You may also export data from ProDyn into Excel.
