Ingenious Inc releases ProPlan 3.6

New and improved features: 

  • Data can be copy/pasted from Excel. Crude assays can be imported directly from excel or exported back to excel. Similarly data entry can be done via cut and paste options. Enter data just like you would in Excel. 

  • Data entry for all unit operations and prices can be done similar to Excel data entry 

  • Mass balance calculations are generated in the report section and a new tab has been added in the reports called “mass balance” 

  • User can specify the capacity of each unit operation and ProPlan will limit the production to the capacity of the unit. If the capacity exceeds ProPlan will generate an error. 

  • Reports for individual unit operations also calculate the mass balance in a neat report 

  • New icons in the flowsheet including size to fit, grouping, cursor etc. 

  • New crude assays can be entered on the fly and they instantly appear in the pull down menu to allow for quick flowsheeting and model development. 

  • Unit operations can be sized as per user convenience in the flowsheet. For example CDU can be the biggest unit operation in size in the flowsheet. 

  • Product names and properties can be identified by doing a mouse-over on the product stream.

  • User can add a text box with color/font options to display notes on the flowsheet as well as group different sections of the model for better clarification. 

  • Improved Flowsheeting. 

  • Simplified equation editing: equations can not be changed in edit mode to avoid accidental change in the equations. User can add comments and custom equations in the edit format. Equations can be copy/pasted from one template to another. 

  • Recycle streams can be conveniently handled by ProPlan with internal calculations to determine the best solution based on the recycle stream. Recycle streams are colored in “red” on the flowsheet. This will also prevent possible errors in calculation order of the unit operations. 

  • Exporting results in excel has been improved such that all the results are exported in the form of tabs in Excel in the form of a professional report 

  • Report graphics are improved giving a detailed breakdown of all the products and quantities.

  • New Economics/Financial features and reports including: Internal Rate of  Return (IRR) calculation and pie chart reports for Revenue distribution from Products and Utilities Expenses.

  • Increased number of constraints handled by Product Blender to 12 constraints per product.
