Cadila Pharma licenses CHEMCAD Process Simulation Software

Mumbai: Cadila Pharmaceuticals has licensed CHEMCAD process simulation software for their plant at Dholka, Gujarat. The purchase was made through Axiom Engineers Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingenious Inc.

“Using CHEMCAD, Cadila’s process engineers would be able to simulate new and existing processes or problems that occur in the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) Industry, increase productivity and efficiency from product development through production, de-bottleneck processes and manage energy more efficiently”, said Gautam Pradhan, Business Development Manager – Asia Pacific. He further added that CHEMCAD would give an “Indian Multinational” like Cadila the extra edge in the highly competitive Pharmaceuticals market.

A major agreement was signed between Cadila and Axiom Engineers in December 2006, through which Axiom’s chemical engineers demonstrated the use of CHEMCAD to simulate Cadila’s problem related to liquid – liquid extraction, crystallization, drying, reactors, scrubbers and other unit operations.
